A type of clip that includes multiple variations

A new type of clip that includes different patches, for instance different variations or patterns. The user could play the clip and click an up and down arrow to try out the other patterns as alternatives. Saving the clip to the library would then contain all the patterns in a single logical unit as opposed to saving out multiple clips. If each pattern had a name and number displayed on the clip in the arrangement too, then the arrangement window could clearly show what patterns were playing in each clip.

This feature is similar to Alias clips / Linked clips and it could complement it eventually.

Here is a possible mockup:

What problem(s) would this feature resolve?

The Arranger lacks the flexibility to try different variations of patterns of a clip quickly. The Clip Launcher has this flexibility, but then the different clips of a track cannot be saved as part of one clip.

How does this feature fit in Bitwig as a product?

It would improve the easy exploration of different ideas in the arranger.

Is there already an alternative way to achieve this on Bitwig?

Using separate clips in the Clip Launcher.

Could it be implemented using Bitwig components or APIs, without Bitwig team’s support?

No

Could it be provided by a VST or something else reasonably integrated with Bitwig?

No

Are there other products that offer this feature?
