This is very simple: why doesn’t Audio Configuration profiles feature save with the session?
What problem(s) would this feature resolve?
If one uses Bitwig in many different places, with different interfaces and different configurations, the new configuration profile in Audio tab is a gem. Especially for someone who works for example in theater or electroacoustic music venues with a lot of IN/OUT dedicated channels, with radically different setups.
Best would be to save it with each project, so one can quickly load a project not having to care about IN/OUT audio channels.
How does this feature fit in Bitwig as a product?
This would increase a bit more the incredible versatility of Bitwig
Is there already an alternative way to achieve this on Bitwig?
No, the only way is to open the setting window and select the audio config profile
Could it be implemented using Bitwig components or APIs, without Bitwig team’s support?
no
Could it be provided by a VST or something else reasonably integrated with Bitwig?
no
Are there other products that offer this feature?
would Bitwig be the first?
In a more classic DAW, audio engine creates the connections needed by the project, like a stereo out, monitor out, and as many inputs connected to physicals ports as the number of tracks, or sends/returns to/from hardware.
Ok, thank you for the clarification. I have re-added the template, which is used by all #features. @rph-r, can you adapt your request to the template, please?
