Record midi directly to Pitches, Gates and Steps (maybe Slopes?) modules in the Grid
What problem(s) would this feature resolve?
Currently in bitwig you can only sequence within the grid, via a computer screen. Being able to program using a midi controller, within the grid, would allow lots of new workflows.
For instance, one could record a pattern and modify the Phase signal to swing the pattern in different ways or form new patterns. One could make entire presets for custom workflows using their hardware directly.
How does this feature fit in Bitwig as a product?
It would allow new and more musical workflows, away from a screen and direct on hardware.
Is there already an alternative way to achieve this on Bitwig?
No.
Could it be implemented using Bitwig components or APIs, without Bitwig team’s support?
No.
Could it be provided by a VST or something else reasonably integrated with Bitwig?
No.
Are there other products that offer this feature?
No.
