Feature request - ability to set clip loop start, end, length via MIDI. Like Ableton!
What problem(s) would this feature resolve?
Ability to manipulate clips on the fly - “DJ” like looping within long clips, spontaneous discovery of new loops while playing live, basically tons of creative possibilities.
How does this feature fit in Bitwig as a product?
Unlocks loads of live performance possibilities. Makes Bitwig more powerful as a performance tool.
Is there already an alternative way to achieve this on Bitwig?
Nope.
Could it be implemented using Bitwig components or APIs, without Bitwig team’s support?
Perhaps but it’s way beyond my abilities. If anyone knows a way, please let me know! Native would unlock it for everyone.
Could it be provided by a VST or something else reasonably integrated with Bitwig?
Not really as it needs to work with native clips.
