What problem(s) would this feature resolve?
Bitwig’s EQ+ device allows you to define a range of 10dB, 20dB, or 30dB. However, when using the expanded view of EQ+, Bitwig forces you to see a ±30dB range. The selected range should be respected in the expanded view as well. For instance when doing mastering, that 30dB range is exaggerated, as most people probably just need to see ±5dB.
How does this feature fit in Bitwig as a product?
If Bitwig’s ambition is to be a complete product, is should not compromise the use cases that relate to mastering. Besides, this is super inexpensive to implement.
Is there already an alternative way to achieve this on Bitwig?
No.
Could it be implemented using Bitwig components or APIs, without Bitwig team’s support?
No.
Could it be provided by a VST or something else reasonably integrated with Bitwig?
Yes, other VSTs do this, but EQ+ is already great, why would Bitwig force me to use something different?
Are there other products that offer this feature?
Btwig’s EQ+ itself does it, but just in the normal display view.
