Forward and Backward Navigation Through Transients Within Audio

An option to navigate audio clips (on both the clip level and on the timeline) moving from transient to transient is an absolute must to get precise and quick editing while reducing the mousing around as much as possible. This is especially herlpful when working on chopping samples and things like drum elements for multi sampling etc.

Is there already an alternative way to achieve this on Bitwig?

No

Could it be implemented using Bitwig components or APIs, without Bitwig team’s support?

No

Could it be provided by a VST or something else reasonably integrated with Bitwig?

No

Are there other products that offer this feature?

Yes. All the DAWs with the most accurate and fast (worflow-wise) audio editing capabilities seems to have it.
The name “tab to transient” comes from Pro Tools (where you navigate using the tab button), Logic offers the option to map forward and backward tab navigation to two hotkeys. Cubase, Reaper and Studio One all have it. I’m not sure aboput Digital Performer but, Apart from Bitwig, the only other DAWs I can think of not to offer it are Ableton and Reason.
