Flatpack packaging on Linux

I saw the 4.3 beta installer is packed as flatpack instead of the familiar deb file and reading the release notes it seems this is going to be the default from now on. Does anyone know if the deb package format is still going to be offered or do we have to switch to flatpack?

On my systems I explicitly disabled flatpacks, snaps and the likes because at the time the permissions and security around these systems wasn’t properly worked out. Anybody knows if that is still the case or can I safely use flatpack these days?

I had problems with yabridge, so I emailed them. Seemed 100% cavalier about breaking compatability: quote:

yes, bridging is not possible via Flatpak.

beta 3 has a .deb release again! the download link is available in the changelog on the bitwig site
