Automatic looping playback of audio clips after recording in the Clip Launcher

Hello Bitwig team,

I’m currently testing version 6.0 Beta 5 and I really appreciate the new features.

However, I’ve noticed a behavior that could be improved for live performances:
• When recording a MIDI clip in the Clip Launcher, it automatically loops after recording. This is perfect for live use.
• On the other hand, when recording an audio clip, it plays only once and then stops. You then have to manually activate the loop or restart the clip, which isn’t practical in a performance situation.
I’d like to know if it would be possible to add a global or per-track (rather than per-clip) setting to automatically loop any audio clip recorded in the Clip Launcher, as is already the case for MIDI clips.

This would make the live experience much smoother and more consistent.
Thank you for your outstanding work, and congratulations on this promising version 6!

Kind regards,
Bruno Riccoboni

Hi there! Although Bitwig devs may visit this forum, they haven’t directly replied here so far. It’s mostly a place to share ideas in the community to come up with realistic ideas for feature requests that can be sent to Bitwig support email, with possible link to relevant topic.

as for the thing you mention, there’s a setting for Post Record Action in project setting, it shouldn’t differentiate between note or audio clip, so if it actually does, it may be a bug in the beta.

I just discovered the same issue in beta 6. After recording an audio clip, it only plays once and then stops. The clip does default to “looping on” but it does not recognize it when initially recording. If I retrigger the audio loop it will continue play back on loop as expected. This is a bug in Bitwig 6. Version 5 works as expected and loops audio right away. This seems to only be an issue with audio. Midi works as expected.
