Transpose by semitone in repitch mode

Transpose by semitone should be enabled in repitch mode and Bitwig should automatically lengthen or shorten the audio as needed.

What problem(s) would this feature resolve?

Not being able to re-pitch audio by exact semitones

How does this feature fit in Bitwig as a product?

The buttons already exist but are grayed out.

Is there already an alternative way to achieve this on Bitwig?

You can change the pitch by adjusting the tempo of the audio, but in order to get exact semitones you need to perform math calculations every time.

Could it be implemented using Bitwig components or APIs, without Bitwig team’s support?

No

Could it be provided by an STV or something else reasonably integrated with Bitwig?

No

Are there other products that offer this feature?

Ableton Live

@B0nd thanks for taking the time to comment and vote

@B0nd mentioned this feature on Bitwig’s Discord and several people responded. If anyone wants to share the link to this feature request here, maybe it gets more votes.

+1 Asked for this 3 times already trough the beta feedback… nothing happens.

Well, as you can see, only here people have over a hundred requests, and we are just a sample of Bitwig’s customer base… Meanwhile, a lot of development work goes into features that nobody had requested or voted here, and yet when they are released they are loved by many.

Just trying to share some love and understanding for the Bitwig team.

I wonder if we could make this description more of a general request to allow pitch to be set via the pitch control for audio expressions in repitch mode. This would allow us to use curves or do tape-machine bends and effects (rewind, tapestop, etc) without messing with project tempo or fudging it with a stretching algorithm.
